NuAxis is looking for a Network Engineer I to support the operations and maintenance of the enterprise network infrastructure for the Department of Labor’s Enterprise General Support System (EGSS). You will help maintain connectivity across a nationwide network supporting hundreds of field locations and federal users, working under the guidance of senior engineers to monitor network health, resolve issues, and support modernization.
What You'll Do
- Monitor network infrastructure performance and availability
- Assist with troubleshooting network incidents and outages
- Support configuration of routers, switches, and network devices
- Maintain network documentation and diagrams
- Monitor MPLS circuits and WAN connectivity
- Support incident and change management through ServiceNow
- Assist with network hardware upgrades and patching
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineering staff
- Maintain asset inventory and configuration records
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 1–3 years of network engineering experience
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches
- Familiarity with enterprise network monitoring tools
Nice to Have
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- Cisco CCNA certification
