NeoGenomics is looking for a Medical Billing Order Entry Specialist to join our mission-driven team focused on saving lives by improving patient care. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately entering patient data and verifying insurance information into our proprietary systems.
What You'll Do
- Enter data from company requisitions and supporting documents.
- Verify and enter insurance information from requisitions or payer websites.
- Ensure appropriate dates of service are utilized per CMS Laboratory Date of Service Policy.
- Identify required missing billing information and assign appropriate attention levels.
- Maintain data entry requirements by following written procedures.
- Maintain productivity set by the department with a 95% accuracy rating.
- If a certified professional coder, perform coding on ICD-10 and CPT code procedures.
- Maintain accuracy by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect data by following HIPAA-compliant regulations.
- If a Certified Professional Coder, read and decipher medical terminology to enter appropriate diagnoses.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical billing with a proven track record entering demographics and insurance.
- Capable of adapting to multiple applications of software.
- Knowledge of reimbursement processes, billing, and accounts receivable.
- Solid computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products.
- Must be comfortable working in a close-knit, team environment where attitude and work ethics are a priority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
