Position Overview
As the National Volunteer Engagement Manager, you will drive the growth and effectiveness of a nationwide volunteer initiative dedicated to food security. Your role centers on building strong partnerships with corporate and community organizations, designing impactful volunteer opportunities, and ensuring consistent, high-quality experiences from coast to coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with development and corporate teams to design volunteer activities that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Lead logistics for national programs including food collections, snack packing, gleaning, and Feeding Our Future events.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage inventory and delivery of materials for volunteer-driven projects.
- Support regional teams in delivering in-person volunteer events and ensure alignment with operational standards.
- Organize national appreciation events and coordinate activities for National Volunteer Week.
- Recruit, onboard, and supervise volunteers as the program scales across key markets.
- Maintain an active network of community volunteers to support cross-departmental objectives.
- Serve as the main contact between field staff and volunteers to uphold safety and engagement protocols.
- Collect feedback, track satisfaction, and address volunteer concerns promptly.
- Attend interdepartmental meetings to stay informed on evolving volunteer needs.
- Recognize and steward volunteers to sustain long-term participation and commitment.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of the national volunteer program to guide strategic improvements.
- Contribute to regular reporting on volunteer metrics, hours, and program impact.
- Manage volunteer data entry and tracking in Raiser’s Edge.
- Perform additional duties in support of organizational mission and objectives.
Qualifications
Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a background in volunteer coordination, community outreach, program execution, or employee engagement initiatives. Experience with CSR programs and event logistics is highly relevant.
Post-secondary education in volunteer management, human resources, social work, or a related field is preferred. Fluency in both English and French is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using Raiser’s Edge for data management are required.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid format, with remote work flexibility and periodic in-person responsibilities. Approximately 30% domestic and national travel is expected. The position is open to candidates in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, or Montreal.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $60,000 – $70,000
