About the Role

Fluence is hiring a National Medical Account Director for US Medical Affairs. This strategic role on the Medical Market Access Team combines scientific expertise with knowledge of managed care, health policy, and health economics. You will serve as the medically accountable lead for National Payor/Health System Accounts, driving scientific engagement and strategy to improve patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Anticipate, identify, and address population-level scientific, outcomes research, and health policy needs to develop and execute the long-range US Medical Market Access strategy for National Accounts.
  • Serve as the Medical lead for assigned National Accounts, driving strategy development and account engagement plans with US Market Access & Reimbursement.
  • Engage in appropriate proactive and reactive scientific exchange to disseminate scientific and health economics/outcome information to national health systems.
  • Build strong relationships to help Biogen understand customer needs and facilitate approaches to real-world evidence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional field-based and home office-based medical and commercial colleagues to orchestrate and elevate Biogen’s ability to meet customer needs.
  • Be highly accountable to qualitative and quantitative medical excellence performance goals, standards, and measurements.
  • Capture and report medical insights with the highest level of consistency and accuracy to help inform medical and clinical strategies.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Managed Care/PBM, VA/DoD, CMS, State Medicaid, health care consulting, pharmaceutical industry, or related environment with a managed market/outcomes focus.
  • Experience in a field-based Medical Affairs or Market Access role working with payers.
  • An advanced scientific or clinical degree (preferred PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP).
  • Excellent communication and formal presentation skills, organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work independently in a field location with 60% travel.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record. Must have authorization and ability to drive a Company leased vehicle or rental.

Nice to Have

  • Account management experience in a commercial or clinical setting.
  • Completion of relevant clinical residency, fellowship, or related work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, particularly Market Access, Commercial Leadership, and Medical Directors.
  • Clinical experience and subject matter expertise in neurology and/or immunology.

Team & Environment

This role is part of the Medical Market Access Team in US Medical Affairs. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders including US Market Access & Reimbursement, Medical Directors and Commercial leaders across therapeutic areas, Global Value & Access, Scientific Value & Communications, and Evidence Generation.

  • Compensation: $222,000.00-$305,000.00 + equity incentive opportunities.
