About the Role

School of Rock is hiring a Music Instructor to join our passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. This position begins as a substitute instructor covering lessons and rehearsals as needed, with potential to transition into regularly scheduled teaching days. You’ll work with students of all ages and skill levels, ensuring they are challenged and inspired.

What You'll Do

  • Maximize the quality of music instruction through private lessons and show rehearsals.
  • Ensure students learn music fundamentals using the School of Rock Method.
  • Create and document lesson plans using our patented teaching Method, Books, and Method App.
  • Lead and assist in group programs including rehearsals and youth programs such as Rookies and Rock 101.
  • Manage small groups of students in rehearsal-style learning environments.
  • Communicate with parents on student progress via lesson notes and assignments in the Method App.
  • Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible at the school.
  • Pitch in during canceled lessons to assist in program execution.
  • Assist in rehearsals and with the upkeep of lesson facilities and school spaces.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
  • Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
  • Strong customer relations skills and ability to deal with a wide range of customers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Resourceful and good problem-solver.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
  • Passion for teaching.
