VSolvit is hiring a Music Instructor to join our passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. This position begins as a substitute instructor covering lessons and rehearsals as needed, with potential to transition into regularly scheduled teaching days. You will be responsible for all music education-related elements, creating a dynamic experience to ensure students are challenged and inspired.
What You'll Do
- Maximize the quality of music instruction through private lessons and show rehearsals.
- Ensure students learn the fundamentals of music, not just songs, using the School of Rock Method.
- Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using our patented teaching Method, Books, and Method App.
- Lead and assist in group programs including rehearsals and youth programs such as Rookies and Rock 101.
- Manage small groups of students in rehearsal-style learning environments.
- Communicate with parents on student progress by creating quality lesson notes and assignments in the School of Rock Method App for at-home practice.
- Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible while at the school.
- Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program.
- Assist in rehearsals and with the upkeep of lesson facilities and school spaces.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
- Strong customer relations skills and excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Resourceful; a good problem-solver.
- Works well under pressure.
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
- Passion for teaching.
