M&T Bank is hiring a Motion Generation Algorithm Researcher for its Lightspeed Tech Center, the R&D department under Lightspeed Studios. In this role, you will research and develop large motion generation models and interactive technologies for advanced game development, integrating cutting-edge methods to enhance player experience.

What You'll Do

• Develop large motion generation models supporting text, video, speech, and music as inputs for advanced game development.
• Explore interactive motion generation based on physics simulation, integrating technologies like VLA and RL to enhance motion expressiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate 3D motion generation seamlessly into gaming environments.
• Conduct ongoing research and application of the latest trends and technologies in 3D motion generation.

What We're Looking For

• PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Mathematics, Game Design, Animation, Reinforcement Learning, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in pose estimation, multi-modal motion generation, RL, and VLA.
• Strong research ability with publications in top computer vision and graphics conferences and journals.
• Demonstrated skills in VLA, RL, 3D pose estimation, motion generation, or character animation.
• Excellent communication skills with a proven record of effective collaboration.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in 3D animation software (e.g., Motion Builder, Blender) and game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
• A substantial portfolio or published work showcasing a wide range of 3D motion generation or digital human projects.
• Experience in motion capture technology and advanced character rigging techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of scripting and automation within 3D animation software.
