Kearny Bank is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate first mortgage loans and promote our lending services to the real estate community. In this role, you will help identify and serve community financial needs through home loan counseling and activities, operating in a fully remote capacity.
What You'll Do
- Solicit first mortgage loans by meeting with clients and informing them of underwriting guidelines and government regulations.
- Assist loan applicants in completing applications and all necessary disclosures.
- Complete loan application and pre-processing functions in a timely manner, preparing initial disclosures including loan estimates.
- Enter data from new loan applications and documents into the computer system.
- Order credit reports and other items as needed.
- Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments.
- Provide consistent follow-up with borrowers and agents to complete processing.
- Communicate complex approvals or denials to borrowers and real estate agents or builders.
- Respond to inquiries from borrowers regarding loan status.
- Complete necessary information such as log entries and business sourcing.
- Distribute Bank-approved marketing materials and general information.
- Actively participate in local business development activities as directed by the Bank.
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all other regulatory, security, and bank policies.
What We're Looking For
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Two to four years of related mortgage or similar sales experience or equivalent.
- Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, compliance, and procedures.
- High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems.

- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
