Moneycorp is seeking an AML Compliance Officer to join its 2nd Line of Defence team. You will manage UK anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance operations, ensuring adherence to regulations, advising the business on AML obligations, and supporting the MLRO.
What You'll Do
- Support delivery of the strategic road map for financial crime topics across UK entities.
- Review, update, develop, and implement AML and sanctions policies and procedures, advising the 1st LOD.
- Act as a subject matter expert on AML and screening, providing technical advice and training to dealers and outsourced providers.
- Ensure business compliance with all relevant legislation, rules, and regulations.
- Deliver effective AML regulatory change impacts to improve controls and minimise risk.
- Produce analytical management information and QA trends analysis for monthly governance committees.
- Advise compliance colleagues on addressing outstanding issues and meeting objectives.
- Manage information for internal and external audit, including regulatory stakeholder management.
- Document, manage, and report suspicious activity to the NCA and HM Treasury, working with the MLRO and DMLRO.
- Undertake escalations from 1LOD regarding client onboarding, CDD/EDD refreshes, PEPs, sanctions, and transaction monitoring.
- Communicate with client-facing departments regarding NCA consent decisions and propose plan closures.
- Undertake compliance advisory and monitoring, raising actions with department heads.
- Assist in developing and carrying out business-wide risk assessments.
- Assist in developing responses for regulatory relationships with law enforcement agencies.
- Define, understand, and disseminate current and emerging AML and sanctions regulations.
- Ensure AML and sanctions compliance programmes are fit for purpose with effective monitoring.
- Work with the AML Manager to provide detail for governance and reporting between UK and Group.
- Work with audit and monitoring teams to ensure a robust risk-based approach and timely remediation.
- Help build a culture of compliance that encourages commitment to internal controls and high ethical standards.
What We're Looking For
- A background in regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of banking, AML, and relevant regulations.
- A commitment to keeping up to date with market and regulatory developments.
- Experience in managing or overseeing AML, client onboarding due diligence, and financial crime reporting, utilising JMLSG guidance.
- Experience working in a Compliance and AML environment with an understanding of AML and CTF regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of the UK payments and foreign exchange sector.
- A proven track record acting in part as a compliance officer.
