About the Role

Royal BAM Group is hiring a Mobile Fabric Engineer to join our Facilities Management segment as part of the mobile engineering team covering the North West region. This role is central to maintaining the fabric and integrity of buildings across numerous client sites, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and compliant.

What You'll Do

  • Take full responsibility for the building fabric status of assigned sites.
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across multiple clients and sites.
  • Perform building fault finding, ceiling repairs, painting, skirting and facing replacement, and door maintenance.
  • Identify required spare parts for repairs and order them through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct building fabric inspections and monthly legionella tap temperature checks along with little-used outlet flushing.
  • Liaise with and supervise subcontractors regarding method statements, risk assessments, and the safe execution of works.
  • Assist in providing associated site services and in fulfilling health and safety responsibilities.
  • Provide general support duties and respond to other reasonable requests as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Building Fabric Engineer or handyman in a busy service environment, with specific experience dealing with building fabric issues.
  • A recognised trade qualification or status as a time-served tradesperson.
  • Training or experience in General H&S Regulations, including preparing Risk Assessments and producing Method Statements.
  • Must be experienced, self-motivated, and able to identify concerns or defects independently.
  • A full driving licence and proven reliability.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to use initiative in day-to-day duties and work effectively as part of a mobile engineering team.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota, work overtime, and be flexible to meet client requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Basic plumbing, mechanical, or electrical experience would be advantageous.

Work Mode
