Boeing was looking for a Mission Architect (Remote Sensing) - Millennium Space Systems

The Boeing Company is hiring a Mission Architect (Remote Sensing) for its Millennium Space Systems division. In this role, you will act as an OPIR Subject Matter Expert, overseeing mission architecture and spacecraft/constellation design. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and fielding Remote Sensing space segments and ensuring their integration with ground and user systems.

What You'll Do

  • Define architecture and system requirements for OPIR missions.
  • Lead modeling and simulation efforts to assess system performance.
  • Develop CONOPS at the spacecraft, constellation, and mission level.
  • Architect and implement Mission Data Processing algorithms, both onboard and ground-based.
  • Oversee mission-level budgets and Key Performance Parameters.
  • Ensure the space system, including EO/IR payloads and bus components, meets mission-level requirements.
  • Assess sensor design and performance, conduct solution trades, and decompose requirements for vendors.
  • Be integral to writing proposals, requirements definition, system design, integration & test, and on-orbit operations.

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of experience in the design, development, delivery, and operation of space-based remote sensing missions.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, or computer science.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in earth-observing EO/IR missions.
  • Expertise in developing mission modeling and simulation tools to assess sensing mission performance.
  • Expertise in the design and performance of EO/IR sensors.
  • Possess an active SECRET clearance.

Nice to Have

  • 20+ years of experience in the design, development, delivery, and operation of space-based OPIR missions.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Experience with the missile warning, tracking, and defense mission across domains.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation of constellation performance.
  • Possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
