TaxValet is hiring a Member of Staff, Systems Reliability Engineering to ensure the reliability and performance of our MEMX exchange platforms. In this role, you will provide critical overnight support during US overnight shifts, focusing on incident response, system stability, and continuous operational improvement.

What You'll Do

Provide overnight support and on-call coverage for MEMX exchange platforms, responding to incidents and supporting triage efforts.
Isolate and resolve unplanned system outages to minimize platform downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including market operations, systems, networking, and development—to support the availability of all exchange platforms.
Improve operational processes such as deployments and upgrades by identifying areas for enhancement.
Document actions thoroughly to create repeatable procedures that can eventually be automated.
Debug issues across various services and interaction points as they arise.
Enhance monitoring and alerting systems based on observed symptoms.
Run essential nightly processes for exchange operations, including those requiring manual input and attention.

What We're Looking For

A good understanding of Linux and proficiency with the Linux shell.
Mid to advanced Linux administration and scripting skills.
Proficiency in Bash scripting.
Proficiency with a configuration management tool like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
Experience with monitoring tools.
Familiarity with incident tracking/ticketing systems and escalation procedures.
A minimum of 1–2 years in an operations support role with some incident response experience.
A highly curious, driven nature with strong attention to detail.
A proactive approach to seeking and solving problems to improve the platform.
A strong drive to collaborate and improve existing processes.
An urge to deliver quickly and iterate fast.

Nice to Have

Experience with Python is nice to have.
Trading and/or exchange experience is a plus but not required.
