McLaren Health Care is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist Flow Cytometry

McLaren Health Management Grp is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Flow Cytometry Department. You will provide vital information for patient diagnosis, treatment, and prevention by performing complex medical laboratory tests and analyses in accordance with established accreditation guidelines.

What You'll Do

  • Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
  • Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques.
  • Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests.
  • Process, read, and report cultures from various sources as well as antibiotic sensitivities.
  • Ensure operation of analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and other laboratory equipment by calibrating, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, and placing orders.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, chemistry, or a related biological science field.
  • MLS certification within 18 months of hire or transfer.

Nice to Have

  • MT/MLS certification.

Work Mode

This position is onsite in Flint, Michigan.
