Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is looking for a Medical Assistant | Urology to join our team. You will be a key member of the patient care team in the outpatient oncology setting, working closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
What You'll Do
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and safety, while helping to maintain par levels of medical supplies.
- Complete rooming functions, reviewing allergies, medical records, and medication lists as required.
- Obtain vital signs, perform point-of-care tests, obtain blood specimens via venipuncture, and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) according to established policies.
- Prepare patients for procedures, assemble appropriate supplies and equipment, and assist as directed by clinician.
- Track patient flow and document patient interactions.
- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures, maintain cleanliness in patient care environments, and handle personal protective equipment and hygiene products effectively.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and eligibility for relevant specialized certifications.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email systems.
Nice to Have
- National Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or registration by a recognized credentialing body such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA.
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role within an outpatient setting.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting.

Benefits & Compensation
- Pay Range: $23.54 - $35.44
