About the Role
The Associate Planning Analyst assists in managing production and material planning processes, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity to support operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Analyze production schedules and material requirements to support planning accuracy
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or overages
- Collaborate with procurement and manufacturing teams to resolve supply issues
- Maintain master data related to materials, bills of material, and routing
- Support the creation and adjustment of production plans based on demand changes
- Track on-time delivery performance and report variances
- Assist in forecasting processes by providing historical data and trend analysis
- Coordinate with suppliers on lead times and delivery commitments
- Generate regular reports on planning KPIs and operational metrics
- Ensure data integrity across planning systems and enterprise resource planning tools
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within the planning function
- Facilitate communication between sales, operations, and supply chain departments
- Help manage engineering change notifications affecting material planning
- Support cycle counting and inventory reconciliation activities
- Assist in the implementation of new planning tools or system upgrades
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve planning efficiency
- Maintain documentation for planning procedures and workflows
- Respond to internal customer inquiries related to material availability
- Track supplier performance metrics and escalate issues when necessary
- Support root cause analysis for production delays or material shortfalls
- Ensure compliance with internal controls related to inventory and planning
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align planning with business goals
- Assist in training new team members on planning systems and processes
- Monitor and report on capacity utilization and production bottlenecks
- Support year-end planning and budgeting processes with data analysis
