Unitek Learning is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant Instructor to provide current instruction that meets learning outcomes, academic advising, and career counseling. This role is central to supporting student retention and key institutional initiatives by delivering the training needed for students to succeed.
What You'll Do
- Educate and provide technological and academic training to students.
- Ensure students understand the competencies necessary for all syllabus objectives.
- Design and carry out lesson plans for each class that accommodate individual student differences.
- Analyze outward signs of problems that students may have and take appropriate action.
- Refer students to overcome traits inhibiting achievement.
- Identify and refer students who are ‘at risk’ of leaving the course.
- Provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling.
- Use a variety of means of evaluation to support student abilities.
- Provide input and participate in academic committees for program and student life enrichment.
- Work and communicate effectively with all campus departmental staff.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and comply with all State, Department of Education, and accreditation regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of a High School Diploma.
- Three demonstrable years of hands-on clinical experience in the medical assistant role.
- Current knowledge of Medical Assistant practice.
- Ability to mentor a highly diverse student population.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Proficient in interpersonal oral presentation with excellent communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Advanced education or college degree.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program.
- Certified Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA, NRCMA).
- Previous teaching experience.
- Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.
