Cherokee Nation is looking for a Media Producer to join our team. You will write scripts and news stories while managing video and audio production from camera operation to editing. This role requires creating content in the Cherokee language and producing materials that share Cherokee Nation events and information with our community.
What You'll Do
- Produce materials in the Cherokee language.
- Create audio/visual content covering Cherokee Nation events.
- Design graphics and video content for commercial and social media use.
- Provide in-house maintenance and arrange exterior service for audio/visual equipment.
- Design, plan, and implement outreach avenues like an in-house information channel or local cable access.
- Maintain and update the production studio with new materials and equipment.
- Produce timely audio and video news releases.
- Use non-linear editing systems to create quality video products.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree, six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An additional four (4) years of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of Word Processing, Design, Development, Internet, and Spreadsheet software.
- A valid driver's license with a driving history meeting Cherokee Nation underwriting requirements.
- Media Specialist and computer training.
- Working knowledge of computer graphics programs, basic maintenance for Digital/DSLR video equipment, and standard three-point lighting.
- Demonstrated non-linear editing experience, single and multiple camera video production skills, and basic audio production abilities.
- Employee must not be under sanction by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services OIG or the GSA or listed on their exclusion lists.
