ACT1 Federal is seeking a Media & Communications Specialist to join our team supporting the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies (TSC). In this role, you will develop multi-media products to support TSC courses, events, and activities, with a primary focus on videography and photography.
What You'll Do
- Develop multi-media products to support the Center's courses, events, and activities.
- Create print and electronic promotional and informational material, including news releases, newsletters, event announcements, reports, and other publications.
- Assist with the Center's publication efforts, including journals, bulletins, and newsletters.
- Assist with special video projects, including podcasts, capturing B-roll footage, assisting with distance learning objectives, and developing informational presentations.
- Ensure all multi-media products follow TSC branding guidelines.
- Attend meetings with the TSC Strat Comms team or others as scheduled.
- Coordinate with faculty and staff regarding videography, photography, graphics, or other support for courses, strategic engagement events, or other activities.
- Assist with the design and refinement of the TSC website, social media pages, and public and alumni internet sites.
- Contribute to the expansion and further development of TSC media-related products and processes; assist with developing media-related guiding documents.
- Develop a positive image of the organization through multi-media products and personal interaction; attend special events and establish relationships with participants, alumni, visitors, and VIPs.
- Travel occasionally to support TSC events and activities inside and outside Alaska, including elsewhere in the United States or overseas.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience working as a media and communications specialist at a news media, think tank, regional center, university, USG agency, or advertising agency.
- SECRET clearance is required.
Nice to Have
- Experience recording videos, podcasts, and webinars.
- Experience with various audio, photo, and video editing equipment.
- Experience working with DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.

Team & Environment
You will work closely with the Government Multi-Media Specialist, the Public Affairs Officer, and the Strategic Communications Specialist. The role involves regular interface with TSC leadership, faculty, and staff.
