About the Role
The position involves developing mechanical designs and specifications for buildings and facilities, performing engineering calculations, and supporting project delivery from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical system designs for buildings and infrastructure
- Perform thermal, hydraulic, and energy modeling for system optimization
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction
- Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Lead mechanical design reviews and coordinate with stakeholders
- Support sustainable design initiatives and energy efficiency goals
- Manage assigned project tasks within schedule and budget constraints
- Use CAD and BIM software for design development and documentation
- Review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information
- Assist in the development of project scopes and cost estimates
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes
- Stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering technologies
