The Timken Company, a leader in engineered bearings and industrial motion products, is hiring a Materials Engineering Intern. You will join the Global Metallurgical Quality team to work on projects that directly impact the business and create value, gaining meaningful experience through active participation and value-added assignments.
What You'll Do
- Work on projects that impact the business and drive value across the function.
- Gain translatable experience through value-added assignments as an active member of the quality and materials team.
- Receive mentorship and guidance from leaders across the organization.
- Execute projects potentially including the physical testing of steel material properties based on solidification methods, applying non-destructive evaluation methods for surface inspection and thermal treatment properties, using microscopic techniques to qualify aerospace materials, and working with manufacturing plants on process improvements and technical support.
What We're Looking For
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore or Junior in a full-time Bachelor's degree program (12 semester/credit hours) at an accredited four-year university.
- Major in Material Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
