Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
• Determine the handling of material surpluses, deficits, or items received in damaged condition.
• Provide guidance on when insurance claims should be filed.
• Supervise the estimation of future material requirements at the worksite and manage construction allowances.
• Work with the lead engineer to create requisitions for materials to be sourced locally.
• Prepare or verify arrangements for the removal of excess materials.
• Ensure that safety protocols are followed by team members.
• Confirm that construction equipment and tools are in safe working order.
• Initiate reports for overages, shortages, damage, and rejections as needed.
• Track field change reports for materials that are missing, lost, damaged, or altered.
• Attend material scheduling meetings and propose schedule changes to align with critical material availability.
• Organize color coding for materials acquired locally.
• Develop storage plans for materials.
• Conduct inventory checks.
• Collaborate with departments such as procurement, field control, and field engineering to resolve material issues.
• Verify material deliveries at the site.
• Manage expenses by optimizing personnel productivity, storage space usage, and protection of stored materials.
• Maintain records of material receipts and issues, and review receiving reports for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Oversee and supervise subcontractors.
• Identify reasons for material losses and implement corrective measures.
• Operate and utilize the FMC system.
