BMW Group is seeking a Master's student for a thesis project focused on building an In-Car Graphical User Interface Agent. You'll join an international team of AI innovators at BMW Research, contributing to the development of AI agents and the optimization of foundation models for the next-generation in-car assistant.
What You'll Do
- Support optimizing foundation models for BMW's next-generation in-car assistant.
- Help build and evaluate GUI agents that use optimized models for real-world tasks.
- Contribute to experimenting with model fine-tuning and reinforcement learning to develop smaller, efficient models.
- Assist in applying state-of-the-art research to improve agent task execution and screen understanding.
- Present research results and findings in internal presentations.
What We're Looking For
- Studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable STEM field.
- Strong Python skills and experience with AI frameworks.
- High agency and a builder mindset – you take ownership and drive results.
- Interest in building the intelligent assistant of the future.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of LLM fine-tuning and reinforcement learning.
- Cloud technology experience.
- German language skills.
