Cox Automotive is looking for a Manheim Mobile Inspector II to join our mobile inspections team serving the North Orange County, CA region. In this role, you will be the on-site expert conducting thorough vehicle condition inspections at client locations, building strong relationships to demonstrate the value of the Manheim Marketplace and encouraging more inventory flow. You will represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador while working closely with internal partners.
What You'll Do
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, locating, starting, moving, and returning vehicles safely on client lots.
- Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate information into the inspection system.
- Inspect and document vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
- Inspect and record vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options.
- Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
- Prepare and provide daily activity reports for management.
- Adapt to daily appointment changes to ensure efficiency.
- Develop strong knowledge of clients in your territory and collaborate with partners to maintain their activity.
- Leverage data and insights from partners to maximize the volume of units inspected.
- Function as a solid team player, working closely with the Wholesale Specialist team, peers, and other Manheim groups.
- Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews.
- Understand and apply the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
- Work in a continuous improvement/Lean environment and help drive a lean culture.
- Maintain production expectations set by leadership.
- Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Ability to travel 100% of the time; reliable transportation is required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and a detail-oriented approach.
- Motivation to work independently with remote supervision.
- Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction.
- Ability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level for an extended period.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to crouch, bend, and kneel to inspect vehicles.
- Near vision abilities required for detailed inspection of dings, scratches, paint work, and other damage.
- Ability to work in varying lighting conditions.
- Physical ability and mental acuity to execute duties successfully within required timeframes.
Nice to Have
- Automotive knowledge, including body and mechanical.
- 1-2 years of any automotive-related experience.
- Experience navigating handheld and other documentation devices.
- Body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge.
- Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicle construction.
Team & Environment
You will function as a member of the Manheim mobile inspections team for a designated region, working closely with the Wholesale Specialist team, peers, and other Manheim workgroups and auctions.
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly base pay rate is $19.90 - $29.81/hour.
- Employees receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays annually.
- Additional paid time off for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteering, military service, and parental leave.
