McKesson Corporation’s Law Department seeks a Managing Lead Counsel to join the SCRI legal team. This role provides comprehensive legal support to SCRI’s Site Management Organization business and advises on enterprise initiatives, focusing on clinical trials, research site relationships, and regulatory compliance within oncology research.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to SCRI on matters related to the SMO business, including research site agreements, clinical trial operations, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide legal support for select enterprise and cross‑functional strategic initiatives impacting SCRI and the broader Oncology Ecosystem.
- Partner with the Managing Principal Counsel for SCRI to align legal strategy, communicate guidance to stakeholders, and escalate significant or novel issues.
- Manage and develop a team of legal professionals, providing guidance, oversight, and mentorship.
- Assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with SMO operations and related enterprise initiatives to enable business objectives.
- Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry guidelines related to clinical trials and oncology research operations.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
- Active membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Typically requires 10+ years of experience providing legal counsel.
- Experience in healthcare clinical trials and/or clinical research operations.
- Expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
- Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting an SMO or equivalent site‑based research operations.
- Experience in technology licensing and data management.
- Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership and people motivation skills.
Team & Environment
Reports to and works in close partnership with the Managing Principal Counsel for SCRI.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $163,100 - $271,800.

This is a remote position. Preferred locations are Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Columbus, OH; and Dallas, TX.
