About the Role

EdReports is looking for a Managing Director, Product Management to play a critical role in shaping and advancing our product vision and strategy. You will lead the product management function and provide hands-on leadership for our Review Design Innovation team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development of a strong product management function by establishing clear best practices, standards, and systems.
  • Lead product management for the Review Design Innovation team, guiding the full product lifecycle from concept through delivery and iteration.
  • Design and maintain structures that promote experimentation, user-centered innovation, and continuous improvement across all product work.
  • Build, coach and develop a growing team—including product managers and UX designers—by demonstrating empathetic leadership, transparent communication, and accountability for results.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure product strategies are aligned, transparent, and responsive to organizational goals and impact.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to build internal capacity around product development and ensure products remain true to the highest standards.
  • Engage deeply with educators, partners, and external experts to gather insights, validate ideas, and ensure products are grounded in authentic user experiences and needs.
  • Work in partnership with executive leaders to define, communicate, and evolve a cohesive product strategy that drives educator adoption, increases field impact, and elevates access to quality materials.
  • Steward resources, timelines, and priorities to deliver high-quality, scalable products while optimizing team capacity and organizational resources.
  • Embed principles of diversity, belonging, inclusion, and equity into product design, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement.

What We're Looking For

  • Passion for EdReports’ mission and vision, our core values, and our commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in product management, including 5+ years in people management or product leadership roles overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling a product management function, including defining processes, frameworks, and tools to drive product excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive product strategies and roadmaps that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable impact.
  • Experience leading products or tools through the entire lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong background in research-driven and user-centered design, with demonstrated ability to translate stakeholder and end-user insights into actionable product decisions.
  • Expertise in cross-functional collaboration, with a track record of working effectively across technical, content, research, and operations teams to deliver complex products in a mission-driven environment.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams through feedback, accountability, and empathetic management.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage diverse internal and external partners, influence decision-making, and represent EdReports’ mission and values.
  • Proven commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity, and demonstrated ability to apply an equity lens in both product development and team leadership practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the education sector, nonprofit space, or an adjacent field involving curriculum development, reviews, evaluation systems, or research-driven product work strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the K–12 education landscape, including curriculum adoption, instructional materials, or educator-facing tools and resources.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ability to adapt these frameworks to a collaborative, equity-centered, and evidence-based environment.

You will lead the product management function and the Review Design Innovation team.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Annual salary: $116,036 - $174,053
  • Unlimited Discretionary Time Off and Sick Time
