Amgen is hiring a Manager, Rare Disease Compliance to serve as a strategic partner to the Rare Disease Business Unit (RDBU). You will work closely with leadership to uphold Amgen’s reputation, advance ethical compliance solutions, and drive continuous improvement of the RDBU Compliance program through data analytics and technology.
What You'll Do
- Explore and adopt new AI tools and emerging technologies to support compliance monitoring, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and improve data-driven decision-making.
- Drive process improvements by identifying inefficiencies in compliance workflows and implementing enhancements.
- Conduct data analyses across multiple compliance workstreams to identify patterns, trends, and potential risks.
- Design and support AI-driven monitoring approaches and automated reporting solutions.
- Develop and maintain a streamlined approach to providing high-impact compliance data to the team, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
- Create clear, compelling data narratives through reports and executive-level presentations.
- Translate data-driven insights into compliance learnings that inform training materials and guidance.
- Perform field engagement initiatives, including monitoring and training activities.
- Partner with Communications and Training teams to support consistent compliance messaging.
- Ensure compliance findings, mitigation plans, and corrective actions are documented and tracked.
- Monitor industry-wide compliance and enforcement trends.
- Support additional projects and priorities as assigned by the Senior Director, Rare Disease Compliance.
- Travel as needed to conferences, internal training, and meetings.
- Serve as a role model for ethical and compliant behavior.
What We're Looking For
- Doctorate degree
- OR Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, regulatory affairs, audit, law, or a related field
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in compliance, risk management, regulatory affairs, audit, law, or a related field
- OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience in compliance, risk management, regulatory affairs, audit, law, or a related field
- OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, regulatory affairs, audit, law, or a related field
Nice to Have
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international healthcare compliance laws and standards.
- Familiarity with industry codes of conduct (e.g., PhRMA).
- Strong understanding of compliance risk areas, including promotional practices and HCP interactions.
- Fluency in English and at least one regional language.
- Proficient in using technology, analytics, and AI-driven tools for compliance monitoring.
- Curiosity and willingness to experiment with innovative compliance technologies.
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to communicate compliance concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to build effective working relationships in a global, matrixed organization.
- Experience with compliance management systems, data visualization, and reporting tools.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and regulatory trends.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to influence constructively.
