About the Role

Patients Know Best is seeking a Management Accountant to ensure the smooth operation of our financial engine. This is a fully remote role for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who will thrive in a flexible, high-value, low-volume business model. You'll have significant room for professional growth within our small finance team at a company where everyone works to make a positive impact in the world.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to manage Accounts Receivable for high-value customer contracts.
  • Raise invoices accurately and in good time to ensure prompt payment.
  • Provide monthly updates to the BD team regarding overdue receipts.
  • Manage Accounts Payable by verifying invoices against contracts and obtaining necessary payment approvals.
  • Log invoices accurately in Xero and help drive the transition toward more automated payment run processes.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations in multiple currencies, ensuring all necessary documentation is attached.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register.
  • Audit and approve staff expenses.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly reports to Framework Providers for NHS customers.
  • Assist with miscellaneous financial queries and support the audit process.
  • Help drive more robust internal controls and efficient processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven success working in a fully remote environment.
  • Strong time management skills, trustworthy, independent, and takes initiative.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Initiative and inquisitiveness to question and improve processes.
  • Demonstrable competence with Xero and Google Sheets/Drive.
  • Comfortable working in an Apple environment.
  • Strong skills in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personable and collaborative across departments.
  • Qualified by Experience (QBE) or in early stages of an accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/AAT).
  • Commercially minded with an understanding of numbers to contribute real value.
