Interstate Brick is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent, you will support the maintenance department across our production plants and yard departments. Your primary focus will be maintaining plant equipment and performing preventative maintenance, all while upholding our company's core values.
What You'll Do
- Maintain all plant equipment.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
- Control hazardous energy using lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Manage necessary parts, tools, and equipment in a timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Clean machines and machine parts, removing and reinstalling parts as necessary.
- Complete preventative maintenance and housekeeping practices for all related equipment.
- Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts using a CMMS program.
- Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Work with peers and supervisors to solve problems with machinery.
- Repair and replace mechanical parts such as chains, belts, bearings, rollers, rubber skirts, gears, and fans.
- Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs.
- Properly operate band saws, drills, drill presses, grinders, and other shop tools.
- Rig equipment using wire ropes, chains, slings, jacks, bolts, and turnbuckles with overhead hoists.
- Work from elevated heights using ladders, mezzanines, and aerial lifts.
- Operate industrial forklifts and related attachments.
- Operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (Scissor Lift and Aerial Boom Lift).
- Wear a personal fall arrest system properly.
- Use respiratory protective equipment as necessary.
- Properly use an Oxygen/acetylene torch.
- Arc weld in various positions and types of joints.
- Make minor wiring repairs.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Read and troubleshoot simple electrical maintenance tasks.
- Layout and fabricate from drawings.
- Rebuild cylinders and hydraulic valves.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety requirements for performing maintenance.
- Attend safety meetings and abide by all safety rules.
- Maintain predictable and regular attendance, including overtime and weekends.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

You will report directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $26.00-$34.00 per hour to start based on qualifications and experience.
Work Mode
This role is fully onsite.
