Kyndryl is looking for a Mainframe IMS System Support professional to solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients.
What You'll Do
- Solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services.
- Manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance.
- Oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets.
- Recommend modernization options, identify new business opportunities, and cultivate relationships with other teams and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience with administration of IMS and system programming support.
- Extensive experience with installation, customization and decommission of IMS DB, TM and DBDC.
- Extensive experience with troubleshooting and solving IMS System and Database issues.
- Extensive experience with interfacing with software vendors for troubleshooting and solving IMS problems.
- Extensive experience with SMP/E for IMS installation and system generation of IMS systems.
- Extensive experience with SMP/E for IMS tools installation and customization.
- Strong knowledge in JCL and mainframe utilities in general.
- Solid knowledge in DBRC and database recovery.
- Solid knowledge in Unix System Services (USS) to support IMS features.
- Solid knowledge in High Availability for IMS, including Data Sharing and Shared Queues configurations.
- Solid knowledge in IMS Connect and similar products from other vendors.
- Solid knowledge in IMS Fast Path configurations.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- English proficiency for meetings, documentation and emails.
Nice to Have
- Solid understanding of IMS logs and how to interpret information using DFSERA10, IMS Problem Investigator or similar products.
- Solid understanding of IMS Performance monitoring and tuning.
- Solid understanding of IMS Exits, how to configure and deploy them.
- Solid knowledge in Assembler programming to support existing exits and user modifications.
- Solid knowledge in mainframe programming languages to support daily work, such as Rexx, Python, Cobol, etc.
- Solid knowledge in z/OSMF and Zowe.
- Solid knowledge in Ansible.
- Working experience with IMS Catalog and ACB Management.
- Technical leadership experience.
