ACCS, AL is looking for a Machine Tool Technology Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching a mix of credit and non-credit courses, developing curriculum, and providing comprehensive student support within the Machine Tool Technology program. You will ensure the program meets current industry standards and manage all aspects of lab safety and instructional equipment.
What You'll Do
- Teach 15-18 credit hours per semester or the equivalent in non-credit offerings.
- Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, and student evaluation tools.
- Recruit, advise, and support students from enrollment through program completion.
- Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate class records for grades, attendance, and withdrawals.
- Advise students on academic and career pathways and promote leadership activities.
- Review and update curriculum regularly to align with current industry standards and workforce needs.
- Develop and teach web-based and technology-enhanced courses.
- Establish and conduct industry advisory committee meetings at least twice annually.
- Ensure program alignment with credentialing standards like NCCER, NIMS, and NC3.
- Ensure the safety of all individuals in instructional areas and maintain safety equipment.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness of classrooms, labs, tools, and equipment.
- Promote and maintain positive relationships with regional businesses, industries, and agencies.
- Support recruitment and job placement of program completers.
- Participate in and support professional organizations such as SkillsUSA.
- Establish and sustain partnerships with business, industry, and four-year institutions.
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing learning and skill development.
- Participate in in-service training, institutional events, and committee work.
- Provide administrative support, including report preparation and catalog material updates.
- Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
- Initiate and support grant activities aligned with program goals.
- Maintain punctuality, professional conduct, and assigned office hours.
- Respond promptly and professionally to program inquiries.
- Assist in collecting and entering job placement data for graduates.
- Support student recruitment initiatives and events.
- Assist in developing and maintaining current brochures and marketing materials.
- Collaborate with College administrators to develop business and industry training programs.
- Work cooperatively with institutional units to complete required reports and collect data.
- Partner with College administrators on programmatic assessment and improvement activities.
What We're Looking For
- An associate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years of documented full-time experience as a practitioner in Machine Tool Technology.
- Or, a high school diploma with a minimum of six (6) years of documented full-time experience in the electrical technology field, with the expectation to complete an associate degree within three (3) years of hire.

- Experience in additive manufacturing (3D printing).
