Allegheny Health Network is hiring a LPN - Adult Respiratory/Med Surg (Days) to join the direct care healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing care to patients and families under the direction of a registered nurse.
What You'll Do
- Perform general nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment and assist the clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Collect assessment data, prepare patients for examination, and document clinical information on the patient record.
- Report any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, or physician.
- Order diagnostic tests as directed by the clinical provider and gather results prior to assessment.
- Schedule procedures and obtain authorizations, as necessary, under the oversight of the registered nurse.
- Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks such as administering medications and collecting laboratory specimens.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- PALS or ACLS certification.
- State approved IV course certification.
- Knowledge of EPIC documentation and assessment processes.
