STERIS is looking for a Logistics Technician, a key role within our Supply Chain team responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, provincial, and local traffic regulations. You will ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries across all of STERIS while upholding rigorous regulatory standards.
What You'll Do
- Maintain expertise in all Canadian regulatory compliance requirements, including Tariffs, import/export regulations and documents, duty drawback, and bonded warehousing.
- Cross-functionally develop and negotiate freight lanes with carriers to balance cost and service levels.
- Serve as the point of contact for Account Managers and Service Technicians regarding shipping needs and complaints.
- Coordinate shipping steps between various intermediaries.
- Manage associated lease agreements and equipment needs.
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in root cause analysis for problem reconciliation, involving all stakeholders.
- Initiate new distribution centers, roll out comprehensive plans, and switch over client functions.
- Oversee projects from requirement determination through scope shaping, arrangement, and monitoring.
- Verify order preparation and create accurate transport and shipping documents.
- Foster robust, confidence-building connections with the team and stakeholders.
- Communicate order information to relevant stakeholders.
- Handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Exercise control over projects through systematic analysis, planning, assessment, and reporting.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of combined dangerous goods compliance and import/export brokerage experience.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, MRP, and other automation software.
- Results-driven, innovative, creative, and action-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to align and energize teams behind common objectives in a non-reporting, matrixed structure.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems and think innovatively to create results.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in Healthcare, Life Sciences, medical device, or other manufacturing in a regulated environment.
- Oracle software experience.

Benefits & Compensation
