Cornerstone Capital Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Loan Closer to join our team. You will play a critical role in our closing process, using your expertise to support our customers and loan officers while ensuring accuracy and compliance in every transaction. What You'll Do
- Prepare accurate Closing packages.
- Provide funding authorization to Title/Escrow Agents.
- Review signed closing packages for accuracy and completeness.
- Apply a detailed understanding of fee tolerances, tolerance violations, and required wait periods.
- Ensure the closing package is fully complete, accurate, and compliant.
- Itemize lender, seller, and POC credits correctly.
- List fees in the correct sections with correct entries.
- Ensure escrows are set up properly.
- Complete all date entries to enable accurate reporting and provide visibility to the Loan Officer and team.
- Update status notes within the TRID form regarding communication with the Loan Officer, borrower, or settlement agent.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive knowledge and experience with new RESPA/GFE laws.
- A clear focus on detail and the ability to recognize inconsistencies in data and documents.
- Detailed knowledge of Closing and Legal Documents (HUD-1, Note, Deed of Trust, Assignment, Title Binder) and Disclosure Documents (TIL, GFE, Right of Rescission, State-specific).
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment.
- A great work ethic.
- Detailed knowledge of: FHA/VA/USDA Loan Documents, Credit Documents (DU/LP Findings, 1003, 1008, Credit Report, VVOE, Appraisal), Insurance Documents (Hazard, Flood, MI), MDIA Disclosure timing and APR rules, TILA/RESPA LE/CD fee tolerance comparisons and change of circumstance.
- An understanding of compliance, underwriting, origination, or processing roles.

- Experience working with LoanSoft software is a plus.
