Current Openings is hiring a Hybrid Loan Assistant / Loan Processor to serve as a trusted guide for clients and a key partner to the Branch Manager and Loan Officer. You will be instrumental in ensuring loans move efficiently from application to closing and into ownership.
What You'll Do
- Assist Loan Officers with reviewing loan applications for accuracy and completeness, notifying them of any issues immediately.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, answering questions and providing next steps throughout the loan process.
- Review and submit qualified files to underwriting, including TBDs for Certified Pre-Approval and brokered loans.
- Complete income calculations, order automated and manual WVOEs, run fraud checks, and obtain AUS findings on every file.
- Complete the Processing checklist for all loans submitted to underwriting.
- Maintain all files in the pipeline daily with follow-up; provide critical updates to assigned team members.
- Schedule weekly pipeline calls with loan officer(s).
- Schedule and coordinate partner happy hours, educational opportunities, and new and existing partner meetings.
- Attend and participate in monthly Sales & Operations training meetings.
- Understand and follow company compliance policies and industry regulations.
- Become proficient with internal workflow, technology, and loan processes.
- Learn and understand basic conventional, FHA, VA, and non-agency guidelines for qualification purposes.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of residential lending experience in an upfront file setup role as a loan assistant, loan partner, or loan processor.
- Foundational understanding of government and conventional loan products.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be available to work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm EST.
Nice to Have
- Active NMLS license.
- Experience with non-agency, non-QM, and DPA programs.
- Familiarity with SimpleNexus (nCino), Optimal Blue, Encompass, Mortgage Coach, and Total Expert.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $27-29/hour based on experience.
- Eligible for LOA and processor loan production bonuses.
- Eligible for discretionary bonuses.
