GM Financial is hiring a Bodily Injury Senior Adjuster to join our claims team. In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and adjust auto claims involving third-party injuries and first-party uninsured/underinsured motorist losses. You'll be a key player in confirming coverage, determining liability, and working directly with claimants or their attorneys to reach settlement agreements.
What You'll Do
- Provide claims service via various channels to members and third-party customers.
- Adjust moderately complex auto claims involving first and third party injuries, including BI and UM/UIM exposures.
- Acquire and apply basic knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance industry products, services, and processes.
- Seek guidance from team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate issues for escalation.
- Partner with and/or direct vendors and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution.
- Contribute to business goals, performance metrics, and effectively use tools & technology.
- Support workload surges and/or catastrophe operations as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of auto claims adjusting experience.
- 2+ years of experience handling injury claims.
- Active Insurance Adjuster License.
- Experience in an inbound phone-intensive, contact center environment using a headset.
- Computer literacy in a Windows operation environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to implement and adapt to rapid change.
- Able to navigate and work in multiple systems simultaneously.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 2+ years of customer service experience.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in any of the following states: Michigan, Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, or California.
- Knowledge of how to build lasting relationships with internal and external customers and business partners.

Team & Environment
You will work under direct supervision to perform routine work assignments and problem resolution.

- Compensation range: $61,000 to $116,000.
