The City of New York is hiring a Licensing Records Management Supervisor to lead a critical digitization initiative for the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection's Licensing Division. You will oversee the conversion of hundreds of thousands of physical license files and applications into accessible digital records and manage the day-to-day operations of the File Room Unit.
What You'll Do
- Prepare records for digitization, including minimal processing tasks, creating folder lists for vendors, and compiling instructions for fragile materials.
- Supervise staff, track and assign tasks to ensure productivity, and conduct training.
- Assist public-facing units with inquiries and application processing.
- Develop, document, and implement internal systems, policies, and procedures related to technology, databases, and communications.
- Follow the DoHMH record retention schedule and process archival collections according to professional standards, including rehousing, arranging, and describing materials.
- Provide specialized assistance in the production and delivery of information communications products and services for digital and analog records.
- Prioritize assignments and implement strategies for special projects and initiatives.
- Manage interns and consultants assigned to record management work.
- Assess staff performance accurately and provide feedback to motivate and improve performance.
What We're Looking For
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
- One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
- Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

You will oversee the File Room Unit within the Licensing Division.
