Bausch + Lomb is looking for a Lensmaker to join our manufacturing team in Lancaster, NY. You'll perform a variety of contact lens manufacturing tasks, from order preparation and precision lathing to final inspection and shipping, all within an established Quality Management System. What You'll Do
- Operate manual polishing machines, optical blocking equipment, and highly automated computerized lathing systems.
- Maintain lens identification and traceability through all process steps and use the Focal Points contact lens order system from production launch through shipping.
- Read and follow standard operating procedures and technical documentation to assure compliance with regulations, quality standards, and test protocols.
- Accurately record data during production and testing, and provide direct input to daily workflow.
- Coordinate daily tasks with your supervisor and co-workers to maintain production flow and service levels.
- Handle incoming materials, replenish production supplies, and support equipment maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation following company policies.
- Participate in business-related projects and, on occasion, work overtime as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Basic computer skills and good verbal and written communication abilities.
- Good hand-eye coordination for handling small parts.
- No prior experience is required; we provide on-the-job training.
Nice to Have
- Strong math skills.
- Previous medical device manufacturing experience.
