Ventrata is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will manage a wide range of legal matters for our fast-growing SaaS company, including contracts, compliance, data protection, employment law, and intellectual property. You'll be a key member of our finance team, providing crucial support to help our business scale globally.
What You'll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as SaaS, licensing, and partnership contracts.
- Maintain scalable contract templates and streamline negotiation processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK and international laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and export controls.
- Identify and mitigate global regulatory risks.
- Lead data privacy compliance, develop policies, and advise on GDPR and global data protection.
- Provide legal advice on employment matters across jurisdictions, including disputes and regulatory compliance.
- Manage trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
- Protect proprietary technology and software.
- Oversee external legal advisors and provide internal training on key regulatory changes.
- Support large enterprise sales deals to ensure compliance during negotiations and execution.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified solicitor with 5–7 years of PQE, ideally in the SaaS or technology sector.
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Solid knowledge of UK and international laws, particularly GDPR, IP, and employment law.
- Proven ability to manage diverse legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts to non-legal teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with global operations and cross-border legal issues.
- Understanding of software licensing and subscription services.
- Based in the Czech Republic.
