NTT DATA is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert legal support for high-stakes construction and power projects, with a focus on US megadeals and global initiatives. You’ll operate with high autonomy within our wider legal team, reporting to the Senior Director, Legal, Global Construction & Power.
What You'll Do
- Provide legal support on all forms of power and construction agreements, including connection agreements, PPAs, general contractor agreements, and equipment supply orders.
- Review, negotiate, and amend legal terms, leading tender review processes for key US and global projects.
- Act as lead project attorney for opportunities exceeding +1GW.
- Prepare legal reports on the status of legal matters.
- Liaise and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Regulatory, Finance & Treasury) on project issues.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks to meet business CAPEX commitments.
- Handle project disputes, including managing external counsel.
- Advise company management on complex contractual, regulatory, compliance, financial, and legal risks.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctorate, Bachelor’s degree in Law from a US law school, international diploma, or relevant legal equivalent certification.
- Current member of the legal bar in good standing.
- Minimum five+ (5+) years of relevant industry, private practice and/or in-house experience.
- Excellent knowledge of power, construction, and related regulatory law (permitting, zoning, design), with a particular focus on the US market.
- Familiarity acting on prior GW megadeals (preferably in the US) or substantial megaprojects in a comparable EPC industry.
- Strong experience in contract drafting, commercial terms, and negotiations.
- Strong fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Good command of standard IT platforms.
- Ability to work well both independently (on a remote basis) and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Self-starter, well organized, effectively manages stress, and produces consistent results under deadline pressure.
- Superb attention to detail; good organizational, communication and multitasking skills.
- Proactive approach with willingness to learn and strong research abilities.
- Developed business acumen, able to combine legal and business analysis in a practical manner.
- Recognizes cultural norms and practices in differing target regions.
- Strong and calm tactical decision-maker who handles unforeseen issues.
- Applies experience to develop and resolve complex issues creatively, delivering robust legal and commercial advice.
Nice to Have
- Data center industry experience a plus.

- Compensation range: $183,000.00 - $250,000.00.
