Full-time

Neko Health is hiring a Lead Software Engineer - Product Engineering

About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer in Product Engineering at Neko Health, you will design and build high-polish, fail-safe user experiences across member-facing applications and clinical workflows. You will lead system design, product thinking, and AI-native engineering while collaborating across Product, Data Science, and Hardware teams in a vertically integrated environment.

What You'll Do

  • Become a fully ramped core contributor within the first 3 months, owning meaningful parts of the Member Experience or Medical Excellence product domains.
  • Architect and deliver end-to-end features that significantly enhance customer journeys, ensuring experiences are seamless, resilient, and clinically safe.
  • Introduce and champion AI-first workflows, using tools such as Claude Code to handle the 80% so focus stays on system design and outcomes that truly matter.
  • Drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces by surfacing problems early, asking the right questions about context and intent, and providing direct and honest feedback even when there is no perfect answer.
  • Lead critical reliability and quality initiatives, ensuring member-facing systems are robust, scalable, and able to support Neko's rapid growth.
  • Influence and mentor other engineers, raising the bar for technical excellence, problem-solving depth, and customer centricity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Product, Data Science, and Hardware to align system design with real-world clinical and operational needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience building and operating large-scale products with real customer usage.
  • Proven strength in full-stack engineering with a strong product sense and ownership mindset. You solve the problem regardless of the tool.
  • Daily use of AI coding tools, with a deeply curious mindset and the ability to articulate when and how AI accelerates development.
  • Evidence of deep problem-solving ability, thinking beyond assigned tasks to deliver impactful, member-first outcomes.
  • Experience designing or contributing to complex systems in production environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with non-engineering teams and translate technical decisions into business impact.

Technical Stack

  • Claude Code
  • AI coding tools

Team & Environment
