Lead a team of engineers and architects to design and implement strategic technology initiatives within the Payment Platform Technology organization. Provide technical leadership and ensure alignment with long-term business and technology objectives in the digital payments domain.
Responsibilities
- Guide and collaborate with engineers and architects to develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap with a clear target state aligned to business and technology goals.
- Create, evaluate, and approve architectural designs that inform project scoping and detailed low-level design development.
- Contribute to and influence product and technology strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and innovative problem-solving for new and existing business opportunities.
- Define system, technical, application, and deployment architectures for major development initiatives, recommending strategies that ensure cost efficiency and competitive advantage across platforms.
- Research and apply best-practice frameworks and capability models to reduce costs, enhance quality, and improve system reliability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, infrastructure trends, and processes in the payments industry.
- Collaborate with architecture teams and technology leaders across the organization.
- Act as the domain expert for Identity and Access Management (IAM) and promote IAM best practices across teams.
- Lead the automation and modernization of development and architecture workflows using AI agents, large language models (LLMs), and workflow technologies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 7+ years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), 4+ years with a PhD, or 13+ years of relevant work experience without a degree.
Nice to Have
- 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 8–10 years with an Advanced degree, or 6+ years with a PhD.
- Experience in designing and implementing distributed, highly scalable, and highly available systems.
- 10+ years of technical leadership across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Java, web applications, web services, and technology standards and frameworks.
- Proven experience in designing and developing native mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.
- Strong understanding of architecture methodologies and modeling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Skilled in facilitation and analytical thinking with an open and collaborative mindset.
- Experience in electronic payments and financial services industries.
