Honeywell’s UOP LLC is seeking a Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist to accelerate the development and commercialization of innovative Clean Hydrogen and Carbon Capture technologies. In this role, you will lead New Product Development programs and build the talent pipeline for key technology platforms.
What You'll Do
- Fast-track the development and commercialization of innovative Clean Hydrogen and Carbon Capture technologies.
- Lead the development of pioneering technologies and create integrated solutions leveraging UOP's Hydrogen and Gas Processing technology portfolio.
- Collaborate with partner technologies and integrate developments from other Honeywell businesses.
- Lead and drive New Product Development (NPD) programs with large cross-functional teams developing complex integrated technology solutions.
- Build SME talent pipeline in key technology areas for Clean Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, and Gas Processing platforms.
- Leverage and promote project management best practices to meet technology delivery commitments on schedule and within budget.
- Lead and/or guide pilot plant experimentation and drive a model-based design of experiments (MBDOE) approach.
- Engage with business colleagues to build effective technology development for sustaining existing business lines and growth strategies.
- Build awareness of the competition and monitor new developments; lead projects to bridge technology gaps.
- Provide support to sales and sales support organizations to maximize customer value delivery and Honeywell value capture.
- Provide support for key customer first engagements as requested by the business.
- Identify novel solutions and author invention disclosures to contribute to innovation.
- Act as a local and global mentor for less experienced scientists and engineers.
What We're Looking For
- A PhD or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field and 3 years of experience in Technology Development.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field and 6 years of experience in Technology Development.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals and application in process, catalyst and/or adsorbent, solvent or cryogenic based technology development.
- Experimental background with experience in Flue Gas treatment using Solvent, adsorbent, cryogenic or membrane-based process.
- Experience in developing and executing experimental plans including the use of statistical tools for data analysis.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and their application in managing risk and uncertainty.
- Ability to develop & deliver high impact presentations both internally and externally including effectively managing the customer interface.
- Proficiency in developing networks & building relationships.
- Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $188,910/year
