About the Role

Landmark Bio is seeking a Scientist to execute our Analytical Sciences strategy. You will work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment to directly support the development and cGMP manufacturing of cutting-edge cell and gene therapies.

What You'll Do

  • Apply analytical and biophysical characterization techniques including flow cytometry, nanoflow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR/ddPCR, and protein analytics.
  • Develop analytical assays specifically for cell and gene therapy products.
  • Lead assay qualification and tech transfer activities to QC.
  • Perform general laboratory tasks, including the maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and reliable records, including database management, lab notebooks, and all pertinent documentation.
  • Write and/or contribute to protocols, test methods, and reports.
  • Comply with all environmental health and safety standards.
  • This is a hands-on, lab-based position requiring a flexible schedule based on experimental demands.

What We're Looking For

  • A Ph.D. in chemical engineering, biology, biotechnology, or a related discipline; or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • A strong team player who is also independently motivated, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • A demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Nice to Have

  • A PhD with 2+ years or an MS with 8+ years of work experience in cell and gene therapy or a related field.
  • Experience using protein and genome-based techniques such as nanoparticle characterization, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, capillary electrophoresis, flow/nanoflow cytometry, ELISA, and qPCR/dPCR/ddPCR.
  • Experience or knowledge in physically, chemically, and biologically characterizing extracellular vesicles.
  • Experience supporting in-process characterization, method transfer, and release testing of drug substance and drug products.
  • Experience in multiple aspects of aseptic mammalian cell culture, cell enumeration, and phenotypic characterization.
