Landmark Bio is hiring an Associate Scientist, Process Development to join our team. This hands-on, lab-based role focuses on downstream processing, requiring a strong understanding of purification principles and commitment to collaborative project success.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute downstream processing experiments, including purification techniques like affinity and anion exchange chromatography and filtration.
- Perform general laboratory tasks and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and reliable records, including database entries, batch records, and lab notebooks.
- Write and contribute to SOPs, batch records, protocols, and reports.
- Cross-train and collaborate with colleagues on upstream production and harvest technologies.
- Comply with all environmental health and safety standards.
- Adapt to a flexible schedule based on experimental needs, which may include some weekend work.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in biology, bioengineering, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with clarification, filtration, and chromatography technologies.
- A strong team player who is also independently motivated, detail-oriented, and possesses good problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary development team.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Nice to Have
- A track record of success in biopharmaceutical process development.
- Experience using the Unicorn software as part of the AKTA chromatography system.
- Experience with continuous biomanufacturing process development.
- Experience with downstream unit operations suitable for continuous manufacturing, such as single pass tangential flow filtration (SPTFF), simulated moving bed chromatography, and/or periodic countercurrent chromatography.
- Experience or knowledge of extracellular vesicle process development.
