CBRE Global Workplace Solutions was looking for a Lead Mobile Building Engineer

The Lead Mobile Building Engineer manages preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and regulatory compliance for building systems, industrial machinery, and site grounds. This position operates within Engineering and Technical Services, requiring technical leadership and strict adherence to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance and repairs of mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems to maintain facility standards.
  • Evaluate work orders, estimate required time and materials, and ensure sufficient inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Lead the execution of preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and manage emergency repairs as needed.
  • Inspect building and industrial systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to verify performance within design parameters and client-specified environmental conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, government requirements, and internal safety policies.
  • Operate company-provided vehicles to carry out daily work tasks.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of standard engineering principles and techniques to solve complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Mentor team members and share specialized expertise across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the company's RISE values and promote consensus-building in team interactions.
  • Influence customer service, project execution, and operational activities within the team and across related groups.
  • Function effectively within broad organizational policies and procedural guidelines.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and appropriately.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school certification with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience; combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Universal CFC certification is mandatory.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must meet physical demands including stooping, standing, walking, climbing ladders or stairs, and lifting or carrying weights of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and make sound judgments.
  • Openness to adopting new perspectives when evaluating existing solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational abilities combined with a highly inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills including the ability to compute percentages, fractions, and financial-related calculations.
