GE HealthCare is hiring a Lead I&C (Instrumentation & Controls) Embedded Software Engineer. You will work within the GE Hitachi (GEH) Engineering organization, designing and implementing I&C electronic hardware and software for Nuclear Power Plants. This role involves technical problem solving, collaboration, and effective communication across teams.
What You'll Do
- Develop creative solutions and reduce complexity for accurate and effective answers to complex engineering problems.
- Prepare design specifications, develop software, and perform module and integration testing.
- Perform Code Reviews and verifications of Design Specifications and Reports.
- Engage customers to define scope, review results, and discuss technical risks.
- Work with the technical leader to establish effective work plans, including time estimates, schedules, and requirements.
- Apply engineering fundamentals and first-order principles to establish or confirm expected performance.
- Provide clear and complete analysis documentation per GE engineering procedures.
- Manage time effectively to deliver quality work within project timelines.
- Communicate work status effectively to leadership.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development, including knowledge of common computer languages and software development tools (Version control, IDE’s, Debuggers, etc.).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with coding conventions, unit testing, and integration testing of software.
- Ability to come onsite as needed for testing operations.
- Access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers are contingent on obtaining authorization from the U.S. Government.
