GE Vernova is hiring a Field Service Engineer—Generator Controls to join a Regional Service Team within the Gas Power, Control Solutions and Services organization. You will manage all resources and logistics for on-site service, maintenance, and refurbishment of customer equipment across North America.
What You'll Do
- Execute retrofit projects, including installation, power up, and commissioning of Excitation control solutions (EX2100e, EX2100, EX2000 DFE) and Static Starter control solutions (LS2100, LS2100e), plus HMI upgrades and TIL implementation.
- Support warranty administration and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Address customer service requests and lead issue resolution during and after warranty periods.
- Own pre-planning, site scheduling, field engineering, commissioning, startup, and project handover.
- Collaborate with project managers, customers, and suppliers to ensure financial performance, quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Respond to customer call-out service requests.
- Complete service documentation, including time sheets, trip reports, invoicing packages, and pre/post-mobilization procedures.
- Work with other functions to identify change orders and review proposals for new opportunities.
- Interface with various GE Vernova business units.
- Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT), contribute to controls strategy development, and design hardware/software configuration packages.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Automation, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with one or more: Excitation control solutions (EX2100e, EX2100, EX2000 DFE), Static Starter control solutions (LS2100, LS2100e), HMI upgrades, or TIL implementation.
- 3-5 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial plant automation, DCS, PLC, or similar sectors.
- Previous industrial field service experience.
- Controls experience with prime mover equipment.
- Electronics and/or mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office and TCP/IP configuration.
- Ability to learn software tools for HMI and application changes (e.g., Cimplicity, Intellution, Toolbox, GAP).
- Willingness to travel 70% as required.
- Valid driver's license and passport.
- Must reside in the U.S.

- Compensation: $91,400 - $152,000 USD Annual
