Jetpack Workflow is hiring a Lead Engineer (Tech Lead) to drive delivery, make technical decisions, and build foundational products for our small engineering team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you will write tickets, make estimates, unblock engineers, and set the quality bar.
What You'll Do
- Drive delivery and own technical decisions for the core platform.
- Write and break down technical tickets to guide the Engineering team during implementation.
- Review and write code when necessary.
- Lead the engineering team by providing clear direction and expectations on performance.
- Collaborate with CEO & Product Lead on future projects.
- Own the delivery timeline (shared responsibility with Product Lead).
- Manage engineering team processes in Slack, Github, Linear, etc to be collaborative, transparent, and consistent.
- Reset expectations around experience quality, process, and code—Raise the quality bar.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while setting the team up for sustainable success.
What We're Looking For
- Located in the USA or Canada.
- Must maintain core working hours between 10am - 2pm EST.
- A minimum of 8 years of hands-on Ruby on Rails, Postgresql, and Heroku experience.
- Led or owned production-grade Ruby on Rails applications, spanning deployment, infrastructure, performance, and monitoring.
- Strong communication & collaboration skills.
- Experience at an early startup with less than 20 engineers.
- Experience leading teams, including hiring and holding team members accountable.

Team & Environment
You'll join a small engineering team (less than 20 engineers) and report directly to the CEO. The structure includes CEO > Tech Lead, Customer Success Lead, Product Lead > Engineers.
