Mortenson is hiring a Lead Engineer to direct the technical execution of substation and transmission projects. You will guide detailed engineering designs for high voltage infrastructure up to 500 kV and ensure the quality of complex control systems.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the technical direction of the engineering aspects of substation and transmission projects.
- Develop detailed designs for high voltage substation and transmission projects through 500 kV.
- Analyze engineering and design issues, assess options, make recommendations, and prepare and present those recommendations.
- Conduct device configuration testing in a laboratory setting, reconcile EMS/SCADA data, configure ADMS software, and support field testing of individual devices.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of technical data produced for projects and tasks in accordance with engineering policies and QA/QC procedures.
- Develop and manage tools and reporting for real-time database configuration management.
- Diagnose defects and identify resolution strategies to maintain software system quality and functionality.
- Supervise two subordinates.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering field and 5 years of related experience.
- OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering field and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience.
- 12 months of experience analyzing engineering and design issues, making recommendations, and preparing/presenting them.
- 12 months of experience conducting device configuration testing in a lab, reconciling EMS/SCADA data, configuring ADMS software, and supporting field testing.
- 12 months of experience ensuring documentation of technical data per engineering policies and QA/QC procedures.
- 12 months of experience developing and managing tools and reporting for real-time database configuration management using SEL RTU, HMI, Network switch configurations programming tools, cyber security tools, ADMS software, and RTU SCADA programming.
- 12 months of experience diagnosing defects and identifying resolution strategies for software systems.
- Must be based in Minneapolis, MN.
- Position requires domestic travel up to 40% of the time.
