Wipro is hiring a Lead Administrator to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design for a core infrastructure tower (such as platform, database, middleware, or backup). You will own the structural design and manage the day-to-day operations of this critical environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead the structural and architectural design of a platform, middleware, database, or backup solution to ensure a highly scalable and extensible system.
- Conduct technology capacity planning by reviewing current and future requirements.
- Leverage new features of underlying technologies to ensure smooth functioning of installed databases and platforms.
- Strategize and implement disaster recovery plans, including backup and recovery procedures.
- Manage day-to-day operations by troubleshooting issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and developing permanent fixes.
- Plan and manage upgrades, migrations, maintenance, backup, installation, and configuration for your tower.
- Review technical performance and deploy improvements to enhance efficiency, fine-tune performance, and reduce challenges.
- Develop shift rosters for the team to ensure no disruption in service.
- Create and update SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, daily test plans, and data architecture guidance.
- Provide weekly status reports to client leadership and internal stakeholders on activities, progress, and next steps.
- Leverage technology to develop Service Improvement Plans (SIP) through automation for higher efficiency.
- Forecast talent requirements as per current and future business needs.
- Hire adequate and right resources for the team.
- Train direct reports to make sound recruitment and selection decisions.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Wipro’s standards for onboarding and training to enhance team capability.
- Build an internal talent pool of high-potential employees (HiPos) and ensure their career progression.
- Promote diversity in leadership positions.
- Set goals for direct reports, conduct timely performance reviews and appraisals, and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure organizational programs like Performance Nxt are well understood and utilized by the team.
- Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team.
- Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement.
- Proactively challenge the team with larger and enriching projects or initiatives.
- Exercise employee recognition and appreciation.
